What would you have your therapist change if she had a magic wand and I could change anything for you? What irritates you? What consumes your time and you wish it wouldn’t? What brings negative emotion to you? What causes tension in your body?
Write it down on one piece of paper…just a simple list. Big, small, serious, seems silly, it doesn’t matter…just write it ALL down.
Here is an example:
Bob at work getting off my back, taking away the hurt from my childhood, Susie doing her homework without a fight, sex/connection in marriage, better sleep, need hope, stop the dog from chewing on the couch, joints hurting, watch to feel joy and peace again, traffic on the way home, etc.
